Stephen Charbonneau is Associate Professor of Film Studies at Florida Atlantic University, where he is also a Fellow for the Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters' Peace, Justice, and Human Rights Initiative. He is the author of Projecting Race: Postwar America, Civil Rights, and Documentary Film (Wallflower Press) and his work on media pedagogy, youth media, and documentary film has been published in Jump Cut, Journal of Popular Film & Television, Framework, Spectator, Journal of Popular Culture, as well as the anthologies The Grierson Effect (BFI) and Challenge for Change: Activist Documentary at the National Film Board of Canada (McGill-Queen’s University Press). He is currently editing an anthology on media activism with Chris Robé.
