I am a professor at Saint Mary's University in the Graduate School of Education, where I have taught for 25 years. My doctorate is in English from the University of Minnesota, but I am primarily focused now on adult education and writing studies. I have served for nearly a decade now as the leader of a Special Interest Group at CCCC in adult writers/writing, and have published in that area. I am also engaged in the study of post-colonial adult learners, with attention to englishes as we become more global in our educational work.
