Greg Carter is Associate Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. He received his Ph.D. in American Studies from University of Texas at Austin. His writing has appeared in Ethnic Studies Review, Journal of American Ethnic History, and Race and the Obama Phenomenon: The Vision of a More Perfect Multiracial Union, edited by G. Reginald Daniel and Hettie V. Williams. He is the author of The United States of the United Races: A Utopian History of Racial Mixing (NYU Press 2013). He is currently President of the Critical Mixed Race Studies Association.
