Assistant Professor-in-Residence for University of Nevada Las Vegas’s Interdisciplinary, Gender, and Ethnic Studies Department, Erika Gisela Abad received her Ph.D. in American Studies from Washington State University. She teaches courses on research methods, mothers and daughters, as well as on fandom studies. Prior to joining UNLV, Dr. Abad was Chicago-based oral historian for the Center for Puerto Rican Studies, Hunter College. Since 2017, she’s presented at ClexaCon, and will be organizing its ClexaCon’s first Academic lab in 2019.
