Emily is a graduate student studying English Rhetoric and Composition at Colorado State University, and a Composition instructor for the FYC classes at CSU. She stumbled across this site while researching articles for her MA thesis which involves designing a curriculum for a first-year composition class. Her primary areas of research are investigating social media, in particular, the visual rhetoric present in those spaces. Since users communicate visually through photos, she's interested in investigating the rhetorical decisions behind uploading, editing, and configuring an online persona through that process. Emily is hoping that she will gain a few kernels of knowledge from all the conversation going on here, and inspiration for teaching her class as well.
