Asha is a 4th year PhD student at Texas A&M University in the Department of Communication focusing on media, culture, and identity. She studies Black stories in the media and Black narratives in society using qualitative methods of inquiry with special attention to intersectionality, criticial race theory, Black feminism and representation. Her disseration focuses specifically on Black women's biopics as an intersectional frame into Black history. She uses storytelling as it occurs in online spaces, focus groups and interview settings.
