Dr. Filipa Antunes is a Lecturer in Humanities at the University of East Anglia. She researches media and culture, with a focus on the notion of childhood, how and why it changes, and what changes with it. Her monograph, titled "Children Beware! Childhood, Horror, and the PG-13 Rating" (McFarland, 2020) investigates the children's horror trend of the 1980s and 1990s, and connects it to a dramatic change in American views of childhood, with important social, cultural and industrial repercursions. Filipa has also published on film regulation (Journal of Film and Video), and the Hollywood family film (Journal of Children and Media).
