Following completion of my current book project, Selling the Silver Bullet: Transmedia Brand Licensing and Merchandizing, 1933-2008, I am embarking on a collected anthology co-edited with Derek Johnson and Derek Kompare on re-imagining management's role within cultural production. I am also gathering materials for a second manuscript on creativity and cultural participation in brand communities, tentatively titled "From Fandom to Brandom," which investigates how individuals and communities are increasingly shaping brand meanings from below resulting in new relationships between brand owners and the public. I continue to work with Kathleen Fitzpatrick and NYU Press to develop a set of flexible protocols for conducting online ope peer-to-peer review, which includes standards for evaluating born-digital work and imagining new modes of engagement between reviewers and authors in a digital environment.
