Adriano D'Aloia is an associate professor of Film & Media studies in the Department of Architecture and Industrial Design at the Università degli Studi della Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”. He earned a PhD from the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, Milan, with a dissertation on empathy in the film experience (2010). He is the author of A Neurofilmology of the Moving-Image Experience: Enactive Screens (forthcoming), curator of the anthology of of Rudolf Arnheim’s Italian writings on cinema (2009), co-editor of an Italian reader on contemporary film theories (2017), and co-editor of journal special issues on Neurofimology (2014), Snapshot Culture (2016) and Fashionating Images (2017). His publications have also appeared in NECSUS, Senses of Cinema, Screening the Past, montage av, Bianco e Nero, Iluminaceand in a number edited books. He is the director of communication at CUC – Consulta Universitaria del Cinema, the Italian society of film and media scholars.
