Dr. Bernadette "bird" Bowen is a critical media ecologist, published poet, and Media & Communication PhD.
Their interests intersect the broad fields of critical and feminist theories, with an eye towards the ideological struggle between institutions, gender, sexuality, and media ecology.
Her dissertation project entitled "From the Boardroom to the Bedroom: Understanding Sexual Ecologies in the Algorithmic Age" is a critical feminist and media ecological analysis of biomimetic sextech device advertisements marketed to vulva-havers. Recently they updated and published it in their new book We Are F**king Machines: Why We Are Like This and What We Can Do About It.
